Alzheimer’s Fundraiser & Flowers

My Mom, Jane Curtis, loved our farm – she helped plant most of our berry fields, planted the flowers and herbs with me every year, made beautiful flower bouquets for our farmstand (as well as for herself, family and friends), taught flower arranging classes for children, loved to drive the tractor, and ran our farmstand every year until dementia took hold. When she couldn’t live on her own anymore she wanted to live on the farm – and she did that for her last couple of years. If you have never been touched by dementia or Alzheimer’s count yourself very lucky.

In her memory I participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s last year to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association, and will do it again in September. At the same time, we are going to hold a fundraiser at the farm with 100% of all flower and herb sales for the next couple of weeks going to the Alzheimer’s Association in the name of Team Curtis in Mom’s memory.

So we invite you to cut your own flowers and/or herbs while you support the Alzheimer’s Association. Flyers with additional information about the Walk to End Alzheimer’s are available in the farmstand. Thank you in advance for your support.

At the same time, we have blueberries, all the colors of raspberries (red, blush, black and purple), and blackberries for picking. And honey from a local beekeeper available in the farmstand.
